Note we'll need a copyright assignment from Alastair if we're going to
use his code. The changes look significant enought to warrant a
copyright assignment.
I also don't see an assignment on file for you. We need to get that
addressed before installing these patches too.
I can't really comment on the C++ changes code. Jason will have to
do that.
