It's a backwards compatibility patch for glibc-1.99. Since Uli didn't
release glibc-2.1 yet, PPC-Linux has still no choice than to use
glibc-1.99. Unless you can convince Uli to release glibc-2.1 with egcs-1.1
;-), I would like to avoid a lot of "c++ doesn't work" reports.
