That change is not correct and to be honest I don't understand why it
would make any difference.
The problem appears to be this line:
ENUM_BITFIELD (lc_reason) reason : CHAR_BIT;
The error appears to be that CHAR_BIT is not defined. CHAR_BIT is
normally defined by <limits.h>. You didn't mention which system you are
using. Check whether /usr/include/limits.h defines CHAR_BIT.
You can probably work around this issue by adding something like this
near the start of line-map.h:
#ifndef CHAR_BIT
#define CHAR_BIT 8
#endif
