Problems Building ppl-0.10.2 with g++-4.4.0 on Open Solaris 2008.11

I first built g++ 4.4.0 without ppl and cloog using gcc 3.4.3 that
comes with Open Solaris.

>From g++-4.4.0 -v:

Using built-in specs.
Target: i386-pc-solaris2.11
Configured with: ../gcc-4.4.0/configure
--enable-languages=c,c++,fortran --disable-multilib
--program-suffix=-4.4.0t --disable-nls --with-gnu-as
--with-as=/usr/sfw/bin/gas --without-gnu-ld --with-ld=/usr/ccs/bin/ld
Thread model: posix
gcc version 4.4.0 (GCC)
</quote>

Then I rebuilt gmp and mpfr. All checks passed okay.

When I tried to build ppl (same configuration as gmp) things went fine
until a cascade of errors started with:

<quote>

It seems like a "Catch 22" situation!

I appreciate any help.
