xerces help

Hi All
I am trying to compile Xerces in AIX with gcc 4.2.3. After all the compile is done and when I try to link the object files, I get the following error :
ld: 0711-562 SEVERE ERROR: Symbol table entry 296 in object AIX/AIXPlatformUtils.o:
An auxiliary symbol table entry is required for a
C_EXT or C_HIDEXT entry.
on each of the object file that is being linked. I am using the native AIX ld and not the gnu ld. Any pointers?
