Cross Reference Listing

I'm trying to do get a cross reference listing of a C++ program showing
variable usage by function and don't know how to get it. I've looked at the GCC
and GPP (?) manual and nothing catches my eyes, as well as etags, ctags, and
linker options. Any way to get a listing?
