Subject: installing gcc4.1.2
..-- should i do configure for both core and java seperately?

configure flag ---enable-languages='c,java'
should accomplish it

-- confused with srcdir and objdir what you have mentioned.
- does objdir means the dir where i want to install it? and srcdir is
the dir where it got extracted.

You must configure and build in a directory (objdir)
separate from the source and install paths.
