Mac OS X: sudo gcc_select 4.0: Error trying to determine current cc version (got )

Dear all,

I got a problem for gcc installation. I installed
gcc-4.0.pkg from Mac OS X Install DVD. When i type 

:~ root# sudo gcc_select 4.0 
Error trying to determine current cc version (got )

so i type

:~ root# ls -l /usr/bin/*++*

That indicates all cc/gcc/.. are linked to gcc-3.3,
how can i get gcc in correct version? Any idea?
