This group doesn't seem to want to ansser either of our questions today.
Hmm...
Perhaps compiling it with 'configure --host=x86_64-pc-linux-gnu
--build=x86_64-pc-linux-gnu --target=i686-pc-linux-gnu' ?
i.e. a cross compiler, of sorts.
