Building 3.4.3 on Irix 6.5?

Hi guys,

I'm having trouble installing GCC 3.4.3 after I build it.  Any ideas?  Here's 
what I did:

I downloaded and untarred these files:
   gcc-core-3.4.3.tar.gz
   gcc-g++-3.4.3.tar.gz

I then ran these commands:
  cd gcc-3.4.3/
  ./configure --help
  ./configure --prefix=/usr/people/cjc/big/packages/gcc-3.4.3
  make
  make install

I think "make install" can't find "install-sh", but I can't figure out why, 
because I can run this:
   ~/big/packages/gcc-3.4.3$ ls -l install-sh
   -rwxrwx---    1 cjc         7122 Mar 17 19:00 install-sh
