problem with new

Hi Guys,
i have a potential problem with my code.
i am allocating memeoy for a variable, see statement
below
SXT_CHAR* newNsBuf = new(std::nothrow)
SXT_CHAR[newSize];
where SXT_CHAR is nothing but a typedef of char.
at some instance i am getting a segmentation fault at
this line. the GDB of the core file is shown below.

the 87th line is the line which i have shown above
can anyone please help me.
