clock() on ARM has 1-second accuracy?

We have an Arm 7T developer's board, and have started programming it.
We're finding that clock() seems to change it's output only once a second.
Yes, it's scaled to CLOCKS_PER_SEC, but one-second resolution is
insufficient.

Can someone confirm this for me?
Is there a higher-resolution timer?

Thanks.
