Really? The first time I tried it without --with-gnu-ld, but then the
bootstrap process halted much earlier. I don't recall the exact error but
when I looked it up on Google I read something along the lines 'of course
you need to use --with-gnu-ld on Solaris otherwise it won't work.'

Hmm. Maybe it's worth to try it again, I'll report what problems
I encounter.
