compiling 32-bit code on a 64-bit system

- Subject: compiling 32-bit code on a 64-bit system
i'm using gcc on the itanium platform and i want to know how to compile
32 bit code (i.e. sizeof(void*) == 4).
here's my version of gcc:
[cjb@rosetta ~]% gcc -v
