extern languages

It is not part of the man page, so how do I determine which languages
are valid for 'extern "<language>" {}'? In particular I want to do a
'extern "Fortran" {}' but it fails when I compile with language not
supported. I scanned the man page, but did not find a list of allowable
languages. So, where do I look to find the list?
