cross compiler

I am trying to make
a cross-compiler targeted for m68k-wrs-vxworks hosted on sun solaris 8.
Has anyone else been successful at this? I have read thru the FAQ and
failed at each attempt to make a cross compiler.
Can somebody point
to me to some up-to-date documentation? Everything that I can find seems
to be for much older versions of gcc.
