some variables are linked to the same address

Hi,

I saw some emails in the past about this topic, but no responses.
Does anybody know why some global variables from the sbss-section
are linked to the same address? How can it be avoided?
I'm using gcc2.95.2 for PowerPC and I can't upgrade. Are there any
flags to control this or is this a bug?

Thanks.

Regards,
Toralf
