libstd++-v3 build failure

Recently tried to build the above on Digital Alphaserver 2100, Tru64 Unix 5.0A
(with gcc 3.0), but ran into the following error.

I'm sure that I read something somewhere regarding this problem but can't seem
to locate it (blindness setting in I'm sure!). Could someone out there possibly
point me in the right direction one way or the other?
