How ironic. We're having problems with with Sun Workshop 5.0 compiler on
sparc platforms too. I'm working with someone to help track these down
(it not even clear yet if it's a gcc bug or a sun bug).
I would recommend you either build a stage4 compiler and install it, or
bootstrap using some other compiler than Sun Workshop 5.0.
