yes, with the bypass line as proposed both

#ifndef NULL
#ifdef  __GNUG__
#define NULL    __null
#else
#define NULL    ((void *)0)
#endif
#endif

and

#ifndef NULL
#ifdef  __GNUG__
#define NULL    __null
#elif defined(__cplusplus)
#define NULL    0L
#else
#define NULL    ((void *)0)
#endif
#endif

are left unchanged.  svn sources still won't bootstrap but that is another
problem and mentioned in separate pr already.
