As an alternative we might consider leaving the code as it was before and
instead putting
OUTPUT_FLOAT_FMT_G(4)
OUTPUT_FLOAT_FMT_G(8)
OUTPUT_FLOAT_FMT_G(10)
into separate files and compile with -mpc32 -mpc64 -mpc80 respectively.
