[Bug fortran/40070] Some math expressions containing exponents fail on a Windows 64 build

Can you compile the above subroutine with -fdump-tree-original
and post the *.original file?

Have you read Goldberg's paper?

What does 

   program a
   print *, precision(1.e0), digits(1.e0)
   end program a

produce?
