Note I would rather you post stuff like this to the C standards committee
instead of posting bugs. Maybe even to gcc@gcc.gnu.org before filing a bug for
something which most people disagree on. It is one thing for filing bugs for
missed optimization but another thing for filing bugs for new extensions which
we (GCC) have already mentioned we don't want new extensions unless they are
really thought out
