Alright, I'll try that... rebuilding GMP with base/low level CFLAGS and see

This isn't a gfortran problem. How did you install GMP and MPFR?
Note, you may want to install GMP without its bundled in version
of MPFR; then install the newest version of MPFR. Also, try building
GMP without high levels of optimization.
