This is the most unhelpful answer I've seen on this topic.
First, you started asserting that something is pedantic -- without
ever demonstrated that is actually the case.
Now, you're telling him that he should implement the behaviour in his
local tree. Then you come lecture people on PRs?
You got to be joking.
