Summary: configure from path with spaces does not work
Product: gcc
Version: 3.3
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: critical
Priority: P2
Component: bootstrap
AssignedTo: unassigned at gcc dot gnu dot org
ReportedBy: brantgurganus2001 at cherokeescouting dot org
CC: gcc-bugs at gcc dot gnu dot org
I downloaded the GCC 3.3 release full package to compile and install in Cygwin.
I extracted the sources to my Windows desktop (d:\documents and settings\brant
gurganus\desktop\gcc-3.3). I also created a output folder to build in. I ran
configure in the output folder and I received errors like ...\desktop not found.
I imagine this is because the configure script isn't or can't handle working in
spaced directory names.
