ia64-linux binutils requirements?

Hello,
install/specific.html doesn't mention a minimum
version of binutils required to bootstrap current gccs
on ia64-linux. However as I discovered, this isn't
accurate since binutils 2.11.90.8 building gcc 3.3
branch yields...

-B/tmp/gcc33/ia64-unknown-linux-gnu/bin/
-B/tmp/gcc33/ia64-unknown-linux-gnu/lib/ -isystem
