Hello,
browsing through the target specific install docs, I
have a number of questions.
1. We reference a number of targets which don't
currently seem supporterd. For instance the i?86-*-sco
target is mentioned. With mainline configuring with
--target=i686-pc-sco I get:
*** Configuration i686-pc-sco3.2v2 not supported
make: *** [configure-gcc] Error 1
Same goes for powerpcle-*-winnt, powerpcle-*-pe,
arm-*-aof and probably others...
Should these entry be removed?
2. ia64-*-linux states that the toolchain is not
completely finished, and makes a number of comments
specific to gcc 3.0.1 and older. Is this information
still important?
Wouldn't it be more useful at this point just to say
that the toolchain is still under development and gcc
3.3 needs binutils version x.
3. *-ibm-aix* states GNU Make 3.76 or later is
recommended. I thought GNU Make 3.79.1 was recommended
under all circumstances, and no other makes (beside
GNU make) were officially supported. In which case we
could just include this fact under prerequisites...
4. i?86-*-linux*aout claims to require binutils 2.5.2
or later. Is this statement still necessary? I'd be
hard pressed to find anything older than 2.9...
5. I didn't know m68k-hp-hpux8 was supported. However
it appears it is. We reference gas 2.1 though. Do we
need to?
Thanks,
Dara
