There is a problem compiling Perl 5.6.1 using gcc 3.1. There is seemingly an issue with make having problems figuring-out what to do with Makefile vs. makefile after the Perl source code is compiled using gcc 3.1.
>How-To-Repeat:
Install gcc 3.1 on Solaris 7, unpack Perl 5.6.1 source, configure Perl 5.6.1 using Dcc=gcc, then run make.
