any time I try to make gcc-3.0.1 (make bootstrap)

I get *** [configure-target-libstdc++-v3] Error 1
I have tryed it on 3 different systems 2 redhat and Mandrake all amd k7 systems
2.2.16-22 2.4.0-test11 2.4.3-20mdk
