Uh oh. Really? I've just checked in the fix for autoconf-2.50 in
mainline, but not in the branch. Sorry, this part of your message had
escaped me before it was too late :-(
Well, perhaps Mark will agree with having the patch installed in the
branch too. Not that we already need his approval for this stuff, but
since this is not something strictly necessary for the 3.0 release,
and we're so close to the release, I decided to play it safe. Perhaps
too safe?
