>Release: gcc version 3.0 20010320 (prerelease)
>Organization:
>Environment:
solaris 2.8, sparc architecture
>Description:
I have been trying for 2 weeks to build the gcc compiler. I have received the following error messages every time.
/usr/lsd/sparc-sun-solaris2.8/bin/ld:libgcc.map: file format not recognized; treating as linker script
/usr/lsd/sparc-sun-solaris2.8/bin/ld:libgcc.map:1: parse error
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
I have been trying to contact someone at gnu or gcc and have had, uniformly, NO LUCK. It's like I'm invisible.
I checked this morning and I'M NOT INVISIBLE!!!
Regards and thanks for your time...
>How-To-Repeat:
I don't know what's wrong but I get this error everytime I try to build gcc.
I've tried several versions of gcc which does not affect
the problem.
