Sorry, I didn't mean to ignore you, but mail on popov.math.purdue.edu
is not integrated with mail on the rest of the math machines,
so I didn't see your note until today.
Perhaps the problem is an old version of glibc; I'm using basically
RedHat 6.0 + some upgrades.
