Sh-hms distribution problems

    Hi
I have tried to install and use gnupro tools delivered with hitachi cd 'electronic components data book'. Gnu version is 98r2 crosscompiler for hitachi sh machines running on a win98 system. I have succeded to install and run assembler, linker and utilities but when trying to compile and link c source code using gcc I found unresolved references ( ___main, _printf _sin and some others). Reading the manual (online version) and trying collect2 instead of sh-hms-ld did not cure the problem. I examined the library files libxxx.a with the utility nm and found no ___main.o,_printf.o or the other unresolved references in any of them.
Question: Is this a bug in sh-hms version? I understand that this problem could originate in not having the correct lib-files and if so, where to find the correct ones? I want to make code in little endian mode for a SH7709 CPU.
