An interesting data point: a 4-stage bootstrap passes compare. This
sometimes indicates GCC is exercising a bug in the host compiler, that
causes some optimization pass to be miscompiled in stage1, generating
a stage2 not full optimized, in which the optimization pass is
correct, so stage3 is fully optimized, and generates an identical
stage4.
