Well, I have sucessfully built and used kernels 2.2.12 through 2.2.15
with gcc 2.95.2 (note: I did not try to build all the modules - just
the few I needed.)
I have also built glibc 2.1.1 and 2.1.2 with gcc 2.95.2
so I expect you will be okay.
