I apologize for all this: the problem is that I used GCC with low remaining
physical memory. I tried several times yesterday changing the size of the RAM
disk: sometimes I got the message "virtual memory exhausted", sometimes the
DPMI crashed and the compiler returned an "internal compiler error" but with
enough physical memory... all worked fine.
