You may also try to find some less generic subject.
BTW, which version of jikes is it that you're trying to compile? I'm
pretty sure I have built some not-very-old release of jikes with GCC
2.95.2 on GNU/Linux/x86 (Red Hat Linux 6.1), without any such
problem. Could it be that you're running out of virtual memory, for
example?
