Hi,
I'm upgrading our gcc/g++ from egcs v1.1.2 to gcc v2.95.1. However,
when I use the newly built g++ compile the simple Hello-World program,
the executable produces 'Segmentation Fault'. This problem only happens
with Solaris/Sparc. I did exactly same under Solaris/x86 and there's
no such problem.
Here are the details:
The options I used to build GCC, ie config.status:
#!/bin/sh
# This file was generated automatically by configure. Do not edit.
# This directory was configured as follows:
../src/configure
--with-gcc-version-trigger=/local/rimmer/tmp/src/gcc/version.c
--host=sparc-sun-solaris2.7 --prefix=/usr/local/apps/gcc-2.95.1
--enable-shared --enable-version-specific-runtime-libs --norecursion
# using "mh-frag" and "mt-frag"
(Do you want config.cache?)
I added -R/usr/local/apps/... (the path for libstdc++.so) into
the specs file. You said that's bad but I have to do it otherwise
LD_LIBRARY_PATH has to be set for the executable generated by g++.
The output generated by the compiler:
[ling@rimmer] tmp [2:63] /usr/local/apps/gcc-2.95.1/bin/g++ -v
--save-temps Hello-World.cpp
