Bad gperf option building gcc 2.95.2

I am building GCC 2.95.2 on a Solaris 7 Intel machine. After running
$srcdir/configure, I run gmake, which fails since a "-F" option is
passed to gperf, which it does not support. I rebuilt gperf 2.7, which
was the only distribution I found, and the error remained.
Am I making a mistake? I've tried everything, and it looks like a bug
to a novice like me...
Thanks,
Kevin
