inner class template patch for gcc-2.95.2?

I've been looking through the archives searching for what might be a
simple patch to 2.95.2 to resolve the inner class template bug. I have
found Paul Burchard's extensive discussion after my initial post:

But this seems to cause ICEs with software the exhibits the template
bug. Does anyone have any useful references/patches for solving this
problem?
