Indeed, I thought it was in bugs.texi, but it's not. That should be
fixed. It's on my hand-written list of things to try to fix someday,
though it's most easily fixed in the context of rewriting certain
aspects of the g77 front end.

I'm unaware of any effort to fix this limitation anytime soon, though,
of course, nothing prevents someone from doing it (or funding the work)
themselves and submitting the results to the gcc-patches list!
