I see this problem has raised a real can of worms, and you are now
considering
changing the default behavior for g77 back to "-femulate-complex".
I have rerun the LAPACK-3.0 testsuite on mips-sig-irix6.5 with
-femulate-complex,
and get a similar number of failures in the single precision complex tests.
Consequently:
we pass the LAPACK-2.0 testsuite with -femulate-complex
we fail the (new) LAPACK-3.0 testsuite either way
I didn't rebuild the compiler or libg2c with "-femulate-complex". Does this
matter?
I am happy to do it if someone can tell me how.
