2.95 didn't install

Gcc-2.95 it compiles fine.

But when I type 'make install' it goes in to a directory and comes out
and says 'nothing to do for install' or something similar.

Compiled with gcc 2.7.7.3 I believe the compiler that ships with Redhat
5.2, the only motification to the system is an updated Kernal of 2.3.2.
This is a basic install. I followed all instructions and when all this
is done for building the gcc-2.95 compiler and type gcc-v it reports the
old version, and when I type egcs -v it says egcs-2.90xxxx so neither
system got updated.

I hope you can help me out with this
