I can't reproduce this error with a recent snapshot of egcs, so I assume
it has been repaired:
Reading specs from
/usr/snp/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/egcs-2.93.09/specs
gcc version egcs-2.93.09 19990227 (gcc2 ss-980929 experimental)
Note that:
"The egcs tree is kept almost in sync with the latest snapshots."
is dangerous, as the "snapshots" are works-in-progress; they are not
guaranteed to be correct.
