Because I started this bug report by asking Patrick to submit it to
egcs-bugs, I wanted to look into this myself.  Unfortunately, the copy
in my mailbox is corrupted somehow, because I can't even gunzip it.

As Craig's version apparently is OK, I would like to ask you (Craig) to
put it up for grabs somewhere for me.
