Re: big error in write on egcs-19990131

[I'm forwarding this to the old alias for the list, since the
new list address is rejecting my emails due to my ISP being
listed at ORBS. Hopefully that'll be fixed, somewhere, somehow,
soon.]

Have you noticed and applied Richard Henderson's patch, which tries
to fix the autoconf stuff for libf2c for Alphas so it gets the
right type for integers? I wouldn't be surprised if the problem
you're seeing is due to the bug Richard found, and was trying to
fix with that patch. (My Alpha is still offline, as is my
UltraSPARC. They both work fine, but I plan to install RH 5.2 on
both of them before trying to use them for much of anything again.
First, I need to get my Pentium II's networking working again -- the
network card stopped working sometime this week, sigh. The good
news is, the installers finally got the in-house cat5 wiring working,
so my old 486 three floors up is networkable, finally. But my
PII is my main development machine, so it needs working networking
for most everything else to be at all useful.)

        tq vm, (burley)
