EGCS & FreeBSD 2.2.6

It just spawns errors messages with warnings galore during the build
process of egce-19980608 under freebsd 2.2.6
is this even stable enuff to install, ive heard some nasty rumours that
it wount even recompile a freebsd 2.2.6 kernel let alone much else, Ive
also tried it under redhat 5.1, wount even build ..... is this in the
process of being fixed??? will egcs at some point shortly become stabel
and usable again..... grant it there are raves about its optimizations,
and i did use it under redhat 5.0 with not much trouble, but this now
seems truely broken, is it being fixed, as id love to return to maximum
performance in a complete rebuild of both os platforms from source....!!

comments, suggestions....???

Thanks in Advance

Scott

PS this really is not intended to be a RIP, more of a CRY for serious
help...... I WANT MY Eg(go)cs... !
