Hi, I can't install egcs-19980707 on a alphaev56-dec-osf4.0c system.
I get the following error message:
checking whether the C compiler (/mnt/video/matthias/tmp/egcs-19980707/gcc/xgcc -B/mnt/video/matthias/tmp/egcs-19980707/gcc/ -g -O2 ) works... no
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler cannot create executables.
make: *** [configure-target-libiberty] Error 1
The only option to configure was --prefix=/local/egcs-19980707 ( a new folder).
Installing egcs-19980621 worked fine. I tried to install via diffs and
getting the complete egcs-19980707.tar.gz
With egcs-19980628 I also had that problem.
With the upcoming egcs-1.1 I really would like to check the new
snapshots. Maybe we could contribute some small test cases where
previous versions of egcs failed.
Any help would be appreciated,
