1.0.2-prerelease on Linux/Alpha fails compiling Qt

Egcs:
[val@erg val]$ gcc -v
Reading specs from
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/alphaev56-unknown-linux-gnu/egcs-2.90.25/specs
gcc version egcs-2.90.25 980302 (egcs-1.0.2 prerelease)

Qt: 1.32 (GUI library from troll.no)

The error is easy to reproduce:
[val@erg widgets]$ gcc -O -I/usr/lib/qt/include -c qmenubar.cpp
qmenubar.cpp: In method `int QMenuBar::calculateRects(int = -1)':
qmenubar.cpp:608: Internal compiler error.
qmenubar.cpp:608: Please submit a full bug report to
`egcs-bugs@cygnus.com'.
[val@erg widgets]$ pwd
/usr/lib/qt/src/widgets

I'm running Linux 2.0.33 + alpha-patches on a LX164 533Mhz Alpha system.
After the internal compiler error, /var/log/messages has
Mar 6 16:44:32 erg kernel: cc1plus: memory violation at pc=120197da8
rp=120197ff8 (bad address = 00000000)

This should be a FAQ question (is it?), but what kind of output from gcc
would be useful to debug this problem?

regards,
Val
